Artist in Residence at Nemacolin

Greetings friends!

I spontaneously decided to resurrect my blog. Years ago I wrote a blog on blogger called Paper Tiger where I wrote about my artwork and interviewed creative people doing interesting things. Then I had a blog on this website, the last post was dated from 2017. This feels like an appropriate time to begin again with a new blog and here is the first post.

I spent the month of May working as an artist in residence at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, PA, about a 90 minute drive from where I live. I had lots of focused time in the studio to make my work and in the evenings I took walks to watch the sunset, visit Buddha (pictured below) and connect to the beauty of nature.

I spent my free time meditating, writing in my journal, walking, watching the birds. While working on my work at the studio, I focused on pacing myself, stopping when I felt fatigued instead of pushing through, and tuning into the “feeling tone” of my activities in the studio.
